Ammoye

Singing songs of love, life and justice, 6-time Juno nominee, Ammoye delivers a wholly unique future forward reggae sound that incorporates old-school rocksteady, dancehall and dubstep with gospel, soul and R&B. With her unique, soothing and multidimensional voice and messages of empowerment, Jamaican-born Ammoye is a lightworker and self-declared soul rebel. Ammoye’s newly released 13-track album Water features the who’s who of the contemporary international reggae scene with contributions from Toronto’s own DJ Agile and Danny Maestro, The Senior Allstars from Germany, Thomas Blondet from Brooklyn, Adrian Hanson Donsome of NYC’s Donsome Records and the legendary Lord SassaFras, as well as production from Natural High and executive production, mastering and sound engineering from Tandra Lytes Jhagroo, both based in Jamaica. Ammoye also won the Kilimanjaro Music Awards (KMA) for best music video for On The Dock.

Shooglenifty

Shooglenifty was formed in 1990 by musicians from the Scottish Highlands, Orkney and Edinburgh. Its bright spark was the idea of fusing traditional and traditional-sounding melodies with the beats and basslines of a mixed bag of more contemporary influences. As happy playing a small highland village hall as they are on an outdoor festival stage playing to tens of thousands, the Shoogles (as they’re known to their fans) have promoted Scottish music all over the world for three decades.

John Hewitt

John Hewitt is a force not seen since the end of the 70’s. There are bands, artists and songwriters that mimic and imitate but John Hewitt absorbs and reimagines. From folk clubs to house concerts, festivals to halls John is a master of storytelling, arranging, producing and a painter of poems scarcely seen in today’s musical climate. Since his early teens taking in the powerful sounds of the Beatles, Tom Petty, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison and the Grateful Dead he has been wandering, searching and yielding a crop of new ideas from the old world. A multi-instrumentalist from Sault Ste. Marie Ontario and being Alberta bound since 2018 John’s mark on the Western music scene is impossible to go unnoticed. Performing over 150 shows per year (From Alberta and British Columbia to Montana, Colorado, California and beyond), covering 20,000 miles per annum and releasing upwards of 3 albums in that same timeframe there is no comparison to the work ethic, the attitude and the drive that John has as an artist. His latest release is "Aphrodite & Me" a 192 page book of lyrics, stories from the road and essays on the current state of the music industry. Fronting the New Americans and touring solo most of the year his output impresses the young and the old, the folk and the rock, the country and the town and the only thing left at the end of the night is a feeling you won’t get anywhere else.

Meredith Moon

It’s one thing to fall in love with old-time music and learn how to shred on clawhammer-style Appalachian banjo. It’s another to consciously live the life: hitchhiking and riding the rails while learning your craft and writing about your travels. The title track and first single from Meredith Moon’s new album, Constellations, was written in 2017 about the wanderlust of her younger days — not that those days are done. Though she’s not hitchhiking anymore.

Lester Quitzau

Meet Canadian multi Juno Award winning roots music artist and snowboarding pioneer Lester Quitzau, a mellow guy who throws down a heavy groove. In a field where intangibles like feel and integrity count for so much, Quitzau has forged an exemplary career. Distilling the experience of the past 35 years of writing, recording and performing his music, Lester has come up with an approach that is his own. His unique style and fluidity on slide, acoustic and electric guitars, coupled with his well crafted songs and warm vocals, are the fruits of this musical journey. Many of his followers have watched his career with love and loyalty in what began as a solid traditional folk/ blues foundation, that has branched out into myriad of influences and a sound that is his own. What began with a solid blues apprenticeship in the funky working-class bars of Alberta's capital city has grown into an eclectic and constantly evolving musical journey. Together with the amazing Sandro Dominelli on drums, the two lock into amazing spontaneous grooves where anything seems possible.

BuenRostro

They grew up listening to the elder Nahuatl speakers—with their deeply rooted traditions and customs—while also being exposed to the modern culture of a cosmopolitan city. These are the sounds that inspired them to experiment and create a fusion of their ancestor’s traditional Mexican rhythms with global melodies. Their music is a combination of sones calentanos from Bajío, jarochos or huastecos; jarabes, pirekuas, cardenche songs and cumbias; sambas, rock, and jazz. The members of BuenRostro played and danced those rhythms even before the inception of the group on October 8th, 2010. With time and experience their sound matured, resulting in their current “infusion” of different musical genres and styles. Although they’re sometimes difficult to label, BuenRostro manages to find a deep connection with anyone who listens or watches them perform, no matter their age.

Zachary Willier

Zach Willier is a 19 year old indigenous singer, songwriter and fiddler who comes from Sucker Creek First Nation but is currently studying Bluegrass and Country music at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City Tennessee since January 2024. In April 2022 he was asked by the Royal Canadian National Geographic Society to represent Western Canada in Ottawa for the launch of the UNESCO Decade of Indigenous Languages. In July 2023 he was featured on the Windows of the West Stage at the Calgary Stampede, and once again has been asked to perform in July 2024. In March 2023 he released his first album titled “The New Sound Of Zach Willier” which includes nine of his original songs, mixing the old country sound with his unique voice, available on all streaming platforms!

Revved Up Zeke

Revved Up Zeke is a 3 piece Edmonton based Rock Band playing songs from the 70’s to present day. Although the band leans toward Classic Rock, it shows it versatile side by including songs from Toto to Simon & Garfunkel to The Cherrys (Wild and Buck) to Queen to AC/DC. There is also usually a special guest appearance by Kathleen Sera to add some more Vocal flavour to the mix. Rock for everyone and plenty of ways to have the dance floor jumping and the party pumping. The Band Features 3 veteran Edmonton area Musicians with loads of experience both on stage and in the studio. Each was fortunate enough to be professional full-time musicians early in their careers. That valuable time spent learning their craft pays dividends now with Revved Up Zeke. It is obvious from the first note that these 3 guys love being together and playing rock together. Randy and Todd had provided a rhythm section for several years in several different projects but always had it in mind to recruit a guitar player and start a new project. Tim was “coaxed” out of retirement from performing to re unite with his long-time bass player/vocalist Todd. It was instant chemistry. Their energy is infectious and a great time is the usual symptom. Come for your Rock N Roll checkup……

Martin Kerr

Martin Kerr’s troubadour dreams just keep on coming true. The red-headed British/Canadian singer-songwriter made legions of new fans around the world this year, opening for Dermot Kennedy, Walk Off The Earth, The Strumbellas and Billy Raffoul, and headlining at summer festivals. After 15 years going it alone as a street-performer, and visiting 35 countries, he signed with his ‘dream label’, Nettwerk Records (Passenger, Paper Kites) and released 2 acclaimed EPs, Don’t Listen to Me and What you Don’t Know. Producers Ryan Stewart (Owl City) and Ben Cramer (Old Sea Brigade) lend Kerr’s sound new depth, with dreamy soundscapes accentuating the power of Kerr’s voice and writing - somewhere between James Taylor and Radiohead, tackling themes intimate and universal, romantic and apocalyptic, and laced with his dry British humour. This December Martin suddenly gained millions of views on Instagram and Tiktok, when his controversial take on two classic Christmas songs went viral. God Rest Ye Merry Billionaires, a stinging rebuke of extreme inequality, drew attention to the crisis of homelessness, and was shared by Hollywood stars on social media. The other, Away In Bomb Shelters, was adopted as a peace anthem by groups around the world.

Steamboats and Railways, Love and Loss, Triumphs, and Tragedies

The Canadian West is a land of legends, where pioneers and outlaws, heroes and villains, steamboats and railways, fur trade and rebellion, love and loss, and triumph and tragedy shaped the nation’s destiny.

Tim Isberg, a singer/songwriter, veteran soldier, and gifted storyteller, invites you to explore our fascinating history based on his acclaimed third album 'Prairie Fire', featuring original story songs that breathe life into the captivating tales of events and characters of the 19th century Canadian Prairies and Western Plains.

From the arrival of the railway that sparked a boom in immigration and commerce, to the legendary scout Jerry Potts who aided the arrival of the North West Mounted Police and relations with indigenous peoples, to the steamboats on the Saskatchewan River that transported goods and people across the vast territory, to the letters from an early Mountie to his fiancée in Toronto that reveal the hardships and joys of frontier life, each song is a window into the lives of those who shaped the Canadian west.

Through his artful storytelling in Prairie Fire, Tim Isberg not only entertains but also educates, offering audiences a melodious journey through our nation’s formative years.

“We pay homage to the album in the first half, then let loose with the hits in the second,” explains founder Craig Martin. “These albums and artists hold sacred places in people’s hearts, and as fans ourselves, we aim to exceed expectations and deliver an unforgettable experience. It’s this unwavering passion and dedication to authenticity that defines the very soul of CAL and resonates deeply with audiences.

Tickets Range From: $32 to $38

Blue Moon Marquee writes and performs original compositions influenced by anything that swings, jumps or grooves. A.W. Cardinal (vocals/guitar) and Jasmine Colette a.k.a. Badlands Jass (vocals/bass/drums) have played for a vast gamut of crowds at jazz clubs, Lindy Hop dance halls, folk venues, blues haunts, hospitals, prisons, markets, motorcycle joints, dive bars and prestigious festival stages.

Colette not only commands the upright bass but also brings the rhythm with her feet on a custom foot drum kit, all while singing in her signature honey-dipped tone. Cardinal’s distinctive and soulful vocals barrel out like a raging bull while his guitar crackles with the swinging energy of jazz-tinged blues.

Tickets range from $58 to $64

The western Canadian singer-songwriter is an elusive artist — onstage, offstage, and in the studio — seamlessly weaving between the outlaw country, Western, and indie-folk realms with an honest curiosity and rowdy devotion to each. He was raised with the tried and true DIY sentiment of “if you want something done, you gotta do it yourself” launching his career recording in his basement, printing his own shirts, booking his own tours, being his own manager and publicist… whatever it took to get it done. He toured for years with the indie-metal band the smalls, and later turned his sights to writing Western songs, creating a unique and quirky hybrid writing style along the way. He has received multiple domestic and international award nominations and wins. In 2022, Lund won his 14th career Canadian Country Music Award and made his debut at the historic Grand Ole Opry earlier this year as well. His album of originals, El Viejo, was released in February 2024.
